Scottish Business Grants
The Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise can provide financial assistance to new and existing businesses in Scotland through its Investment and Innovation Grants. In some cases this funding may be used to underwrite the costs of engagement with 2kt.

R&D Grants
The R&D Grant supports businesses developing new products, processes and services to improve company competitiveness and to benefit the Scottish economy.
Assistance is available to businesses of all sizes located within the Scottish Enterprise Network area or those planning to establish a base here.
A maximum of 35% of eligible project costs for SMEs up to £40,000 is available, and a maximum of 25% of the eligible project costs for SMEs above £40,000 and for all grants to large companies is also available.

Regional Selective Assistance
RSA is the main investment grant scheme for businesses in designated areas of Scotland (the ‘assisted’ areas). Assistance to SMEs in certain areas is delivered under the EC block exemption regulation for regional aid and SMEs.
Businesses of all sizes can apply, whether they are Scottish-owned or headquartered outside Scotland. If your business is located within an assisted area, you could qualify for funding towards an investment project which will create or safeguard jobs in the business.

SMART:Scotland
SMART:Scotland provides financial assistance to SMEs to help support projects which represent a significant technological advance for the UK sector or industry concerned.
The Programme can provide grant assistance to support:
- Technical and Commercial Feasibility Studies
These should involve early stage R&D, the outcome of which will enable informed decisions on the technical and commercial feasibility of a new product or process.
- Research and Development Projects
These should aim to develop a pre-production prototype of a new product or process.

Tourism Innovation Fund
The Tourism Innovation Fund (TIF) provides innovation support that can include matched funding of up to £30,000 and professional one-to-one advice, enabling tourism operators to deliver innovative projects to market.
Support is aimed at individual or collaborative project ideas that aim to offer a new and genuinely innovative experience which encourages people to visit Scotland. This can include:
- Developing a product or business process
- Increasing an existing market
- Entering a new market
